Pea protein powder is one of the best plant-based proteins, made by extracting soluble pea protein from yellow split peas. Our non-GMO pea protein powder, an excellent vegan-friendly source of dietary protein, is high in Vitamin D and has a great amino acid profile, including a lot of the branched-chain amino acids well-known for decreasing muscle breakdown after workouts.
Coconut oil contains medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs) aka medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), a great source for energy and endurance that boosts metabolism. Rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals, coconut oil also contains disease fighting auric and caprylic fatty acids, which reduce inflammation, along with antioxidants that remove free radicals. We use only certified organic raw unprocessed extra virgin coconut oil.
With 17 different antioxidant compounds (especially flavonoid polyphenolic varieties) our non-GMO cherries slow skin aging processes. Cherries contain high levels of vitamin C, which reduces free radical damage and stimulates collagen production, along with melatonin, which protects skin from UV radiation and repairs sun damage. Our cherries come from Sunrise Fresh Farm in California.
Rich in antioxidants, our organic dark chocolate chips improve skin hydration, leading to smoother skin and improved skin texture. Our chocolate is 85% cacao which means more flavonoids to improve skin’s ability protect against sunburn. Research shows people who eat about one ounce of high-percentage dark chocolate daily for three months can withstand twice the amount of UVB rays.
Our honey, made by bees fed nectar of organic clover, contains antioxidants, iron, potassium and B vitamins. Many scientific studies support the efficacy of honey in fighting bacteria, similar to antibiotics, and because our honey is never heated over 95 degrees F, such beneficial enzymes are not destroyed. Our honey comes from a family-owned company in Oregon that sources its honey exclusively from small beekeepers.
Chia seeds are nutritionally dense and are revered for their anti-aging, endurance and energizing benefits. Eaten by the ancient Aztecs and Mayans for sustained energy during battle, health benefits include boosting heart health, brain health and digestive health. Chia seeds are a great source of calcium, protein and antioxidants that protect from free radicals, cancer and aging. These seeds have over 7 times more omega-3 fatty acids than salmon. We use only non-GMO chia seeds.
Flax seeds are one of the world’s oldest crops. They’re packed with antioxidants called lignin—polyphenols that provide benefits for anti-aging and cellular health. Our non-GMO flax seeds provide antioxidant support to the heart, bones, skin, hair and eyes and are an excellent source of omega 3 fatty acids. The alpha-linolenic acid benefits the skin and hair by providing essential fats as well as b-vitamins which can reduce dryness and lower risk of heart disease.
Quinoa (pronounced KEEN-wah) was eaten by the ancient Incas 7,000 years ago — it is packed abundantly with protein, omega-3 fatty acids and iron. It’s one of the few plant foods that contain all 9 essential amino acids. It is also high in fiber, magnesium, B-vitamins, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin E and loaded with flavonoids. We use only organically grown whole grain quinoa.
Of all the known antioxidants, the components of green tea are the most potent. It is packed with polyphenols that can help stop cancer development. Green tea can even help prevent non-melanoma skin cancer by enhancing DNA repair. One of the major antioxidants in green tea has been shown to be the most effective agent against skin inflammation and cancerous changes in the skin. We only use non-GMO green tea.
Spirulina is a blue-green algae rich in phytonutrients and carotenoids, plus important antioxidants to help detox, defend and regenerate skin cells. Our non-GMO spirulina contains high-quality protein and large concentrations of vitamin A, vitamin B-12, and vitamin E as well as astaxanthin, which has been shown to protect the skin and eyes against UV radiation. It also fights free radicals and inflammation to prevent sun damage by preventing UV-induced cell damage.
Chlorella is also a blue-green algae — it contains astaxanthin, chlorophyll, vitamin A, vitamin C, and glutathione and can detox heavy metals from your body while protecting your skin cells. 60% of chlorella is made up of complete protein (all of the essential amino acids). It also boasts a good ratio of omega-3 to omega-6 fatty acids. We use only non-GMO chlorella.
Almonds are a rich source of Vitamin E, calcium, phosphorous, iron and magnesium. Vitamin E in our organic almond butter helps prevent skin cancer and naturally protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun. Our organic almond butter has important fatty acids to help reduce inflammation throughout the body. The presence of manganese, copper and riboflavin in almonds helps in energy production and metabolic rate.
We use organic Peanuts, rich in protein and an excellent source of biotin, copper, niacin, folate, manganese, Vitamin E, magnesium, antioxidant polyphenols and plant compound antioxidants such as resveratrol (the famous stuff in red wine). Our peanuts come from an employee-owned company, based in New York, that engages in fair trade practices and supports small and rural farms.
Sunflower Lecithin is abundant with choline and fatty acids and is beneficial to the brain and nervous systems. It helps emulsify all the ingredients in our energy bar, meaning it holds everything together and stops the oil from separating in the peanut butter. Ours sunflower lecithin is non-GMO and produced raw and chemical-free.
