Co-Founder / Head of Marketing
Growing up as a 7th generation Floridian, Kari spent countless hours fishing, surfing and playing soccer in the sun. Graduating from Stetson University with a degree in Marketing and English, she moved to Atlanta where she started her own agency Grasshopper Marketing.
After moving back to Florida with Shannon and their two boys, she was horrified to learn most sunscreens were extremely poor at preventing skin cancer, and through a great deal of research, discovered the merits of zinc oxide based sunscreen as well as the great role nutrition played in defending against sun borne skin damage.
Kari now builds the Waxhead brand, ideas, images and words to reach our customers, while overseeing creative development and defining strategy for Waxhead marketing strategies.
Co-Founder / Head of Operations
Raised in North Carolina, Shannon grew up in the sun, playing golf, camping as a Boy Scout, and pulling tobacco in the hot summer fields. He earned a degree in Mathematics and Business Intelligence from Georgia State University before leaving a career in data analytics to start the Marketing Analytics group at Grasshopper Marketing.
After moving to Florida then starting Waxhead in 2015, he became a Certified Nutrition Consultant to better understand nutrition’s key role in long term sun defense. He then led the process to patent our sun defense food technology.
Shannon designs our product manufacturing plans, sources suppliers, and manages production schedules and inventory levels, while working with our board of advisors to expand our company’s reach.
